The range judging team competed at state range judging near Valentine, NE, on Wednesday, Oct. 29. They placed 23rd overall as a team out of 40 teams. This was an all first-year judging team, and there were a lot of new plants and sites that they had never seen. They even held on through the rain! Everyone improved on their district scores. Sonny’s Super Foods will be celebrating their 40th anniversary this week with special anniversary sales October 6-12 throughout the entire grocery store. The Grand Opening for the store was held October 28-31, 1981, the store then being owned by the late Alex Schmunk and his wife, Vonnie, currently of Scottsbluff.

On Saturday, Sept 11, four lucky members of the Bridgeport Chapter of the FFA attended the Nebraska Huskers vs. Buffalo Bulls football game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The tickets were earned by placing 3rd in the “I Believe” competition earlier this year, donated to the chapter by the I Believe Foundation. Students chosen to attend were the most active members during the 2020-2021 school year, earning the most points in the club. The four were also able experience the UNL dairy store, drive around the college, and meet with past FFA member, Jocelyn Pohl.
