The Prairie Winds Community Center hosted its annual 5K Color Run/Walk, this year early on the morning of September 11, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D. C., and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The walkers and runners gathered in white shirts just after sunrise at the base of Courthouse and Jail Rock; at the same time the terrorist attacks were being carried out on the east coast two decades ago. Along the route, PWCC staff doused them with red and blue chalk as they fought their way to the finish line near the clubhouse at the golf course. All ran under the hashtag #weremember. Above, Erin Reynolds gets a blast of red and blue from Ryna Gibbony at the finish line. SARAH STRAWN
