Only one other time in the history of Bridgeport basketball have both the Girls and Boys won the District Championship, qualifying for the State Basketball Tournament at Lincoln; Thirty-two years ago, in 1989, when this writer was still in elementary school, and game photos were taken with 35 mm film cameras.
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 8th with all board members present along with the administration and Ms. Vonnie Brown. The meeting was also livestreamed on STRIV. The board had one action item under new business and that was to approve a teaching contract being offered to Ms. Tomi Rodak to teach Elementary Special Education. Ms. Rodak currently teaches at Sidney and several years ago was a paraeducator here at Bridgeport. The administration went over their reports and the meeting adjourned at around 7:50PM.
Sarah Lang, Bridgeport senior, was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Bob Devaney Natatorium in Lincoln on Saturday, February 27, for the opening of the NSAA men’s State Swimming competition
Bridgeport Elementary School will be having Kindergarten registration on March 16, 17, and 18 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 1:00-3:30 P.M. in the elementary office.
