When Tanya Farrenkopf was made aware of the fact that her and her husband, Cameron, both had lifesaving Covid antibodies coursing through their veins, she wanted to be able to help others that were fighting for their lives with the coronavirus through blood donations and transfusions. After multiple calls to area hospitals and the American Red Cross, it was determined that, to donate their antibodies, they would need to travel to Eastern Nebraska or south to Colorado.
Bridgeport Girl Scouts met on Friday, December 18, at the Bridgeport Public Library for a morning full of Christmas activities. The youngsters enjoyed decorating sugar cookies, making Christmas crafts and ornaments, and taking to the city streets for a bit of Christmas caroling with a plethora of musical instruments. The scouts created Christmas cards for each of the residents at Skyview at Bridgeports, had their pictures taken as Buddy the Elf, and finished off the morning with popcorn and M&Ms in front of the 1966 classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas! It was 1998 when Judy Oltmann received a Christmas card from a local friend with a pencil drawn nativity on the front. The scene depicted rotund children as Mary and Joseph, Jesus, the Angel Gabriel and shepherds, along with three Wise Men.
