Seniors from Bridgeport and Bayard High School spent last Tuesday at the Morrill County Courthouse for some hands-on lessons about county government. Students spent the morning touring the several offices inside the courthouse: the county and district clerk’s offices, the assessor office, the veteran’s office, and the election office. They also saw big equipment and met with men from the road department. In the veteran’s office, retired military members walked students through proper flag folding and had them try their hands at it.

Commissioner Jeff Metz stated he has been working closely with the fair board and the association to make this the best scenario for our youth. The three groups met Thursday night to talk about some changes that were suggested, and all were open and willing to make reasonable modifications.
