GERING—Legacy of the Plains Museum is holding its 26th Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and costs $5 per person, with children 12 and under free.
Riverside Discovery Center is partnering up with the UNMC Nursing Program and its students again to bring everyone the Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Children can bring their favorite stuffed animal for a checkup, courtesy of the UNMC nursing students, as well as other activities and crafts. This event is soooo much fun for little kids and families and we highly recommend it! Additionally, the splash pad will still be on, weather permitting!
GERING—With school back in session and the busy summer travel season slowing down, Scotts Bluff National Monument will begin fall/winter operating hours for theVisitor Center and Summit Road. Effective Monday, Sept. 5, the Visitor Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Panhandle Partnership Respite Program operated throughWestern Community Health Resources is offering four Fun Day Activities for children with special needs and their siblings to participate in. Adults with intellectual developmental disabilities are also welcomed to attend.
Beginning September 6, the City of Bridgeport commenced its schedule of spraying insecticide around town every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8:00 p.m. until further notice to help reduce the mosquito population within the city. Adverse weather conditions, such as high winds and/or rain, will cause a postponement of the spraying on any of the scheduled nights.
