Clowning around at the circus

It was a record hot day in the panhandle on Saturday when the Culpepper and Meriweather circus came to town, setting up their big top on the south side of the rodeo arena at the Morrill County Fairgrounds. Few people came out to watch the raising of the tent in the morning, but tours were given to those who did attend, including an up close and personal visit with Wendall the Lion. Jordan Wagner, the 2022 Camp Clarke Queen, attended both the tent raising and both shows, acting as the guest ringmaster.
