Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Tree Recovery program helps distribute 75 trees to Bridgeport residents affected by storm damage and pest infestation
BRIDGEPORT—The Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Tree Recovery program, a national program underwritten by FedEx and Foundation members, aims to replace trees in communities affected by natural disasters throughout the United States. The City of Bridgeport has received funding from the Arbor Day Foundation Tree Recovery Program to receive 75 free trees to improve the public benefit that trees provide to Bridgeport citizens. To ensure a fair distribution, 25 trees have been designated for various public spaces where Bridgeport citizens spend their time. The remaining 50 trees will be distributed at the Arbor Day Celebration event to qualified Bridgeport residents who complete an online application in the order of first come, first served, on April 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Prairie Winds Community Center (PWCC). Tree size will range from four feet to twelve feet tall, evergreens will be no less than 18 inches.
