The Nebraska Press Association (NPA) has launched a new public website to provide greater public access and notification to the workings of all government entities and courts in Nebraska. The website—www.nepublicnotices.com—is a cooperative effort of all Nebraska newspapers and is managed through the NPA.
An arrest warrant for two local men involved in a dirt bike accident last summer in the northern part of Morrill County was issued December 17, 2021, with both men being arraigned on charges in Morrill County this year.
The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting January 13, 2022. All board members were present along with the administration and Ms. Vonnie Brown. Also present was the school auditor Mr. Kevin Sylvester. In action items the board approved a new negotiations agreement with the BEA that added a vertical step to the pay schedule and $250 to the base. The new agreement also added $75 to the current $250 deductible to be reimbursed. The board also elected officers (stayed the same), approved Platte Valley Bank as the depository for this year and contracted Dan F Cole to do the audit again next year and approved the audit report they did this year. Bridgeport City Council met in regular session on Thursday night, January 13. After routine business, the consent agenda was passed including the approval of the minutes of the Regular and Special meetings held in December, and the Treasurer’s report.
Myla Panas, daughter of Joseph and Candace Panas, and a third grader at Bridgeport Elementary School, is a true young philanthropist in the making. Since the spring before her Kindergarten year, Myla has planted a pumpkin patch in the spring and harvested the large fruits in the fall, selling them to raise money for different local groups in need.
