Martin Luther King Jr. Day is first free entrance date for NPS

The U.S. National Park Service has an offer for the coming 2022 year that an inflation-shocked public can appreciate: Five days when the entrance fees are waived at every park in the country. While most of the 423 National parks do not have an entrance fee at all, about 110 of them do and those fees range anywhere from $5.00 to $35.00. According to their website, the NPS spans 84 million acres, with every state having at least one park, as well as parks in the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.

Morrill County Sheriff’s office

Morrill County Sheriff’s office welcomes its newest deputy, Sidney native Brennan Andrew. Andrew attended Chadron State College for two years after graduating from Sidney High School in 2019. He came to Morrill County for the job opportunity with the sheriff’s department because he felt like the community supported its law enforcement. Graduating from the 15-week Law Enforcement Training Academy last month, Andrew moved to Bridgeport to be a full-time deputy. Outside of work, Andrew likes to hunt and fish. COURTESY PHOTO
