Jean Ann Nichols was born on October 3, 1933, to Charles and Nina Nichols. She lived on a farm west of Morrill, NE; attended Pleasant View Country School and graduated from Morrill High School in 1950. She graduated from Scottsbluff Junior College in 1952 and then attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Scottsbluff, graduating in 1954. She was a nurse in Bridgeport when her best friend Edna Schruben convinced her to attend anesthesia school with her in Aberdeen,

South Dakota. After graduating from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Anesthesia in 1958, she was employed by both St. Mary’s and Regional West Hospital until her retirement.

She is survived by her sister, Lois Petree; niece, Linda Bennett; nephew Mark Petree of Oklahoma; and multiple great-nieces and -nephews; special friends,Tom and Marg Dredla, and her special group of nursing friends called “NAGS” (Nurses All Gone Sour, named by Dr.Westerbur). She loved being back home in western Nebraska and reconnecting with old friends.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill, NE, along with her devoted fur baby companions, Sadie and Katie. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com for the family.
