Bonnie M. Bauer was born on February 15, 1932, to Herman J. Bennett and Pearl G. (Harpstrieth) Bennett in Broadwater, Nebraska. She graduated from Broadwater High School in 1949. November 26, 1949, she was united in marriage to John R. Bauer.

They lived in Broadwater and were blessed with three sons: Michael, Robert, and Jeffery. In 1961, John’s work for the government took the family to Richmond, Kentucky. In 1965 the family returned to Broadwater while John spent a year in Korea.

Upon his return, the family had moved to Fowler, Colorado, until 1969.The next assignment was Heilbronn, Germany, for three years.

In 1971 the family relocated to Toole, Utah. 1975 the couple spent two years in Japan until their return to the states in 1977, and went back and forth from Manhattan, Kansas, to Benerhaven, Germany until 1979. Once John finally retired in 1983, Bonnie’s dreams came true and they returned to Broadwater.

Life was picturesque during those times, until 1994, when her John passed away. Bonnie remained in Broadwater until 2008, spent a few years in Scottsbluff and ended her days in Bridgeport.

Bonnie enjoyed following her grandchildren’s sporting events as they were growing up. She was especially fond of the people at the Neighborhood Apartments, and the views off her patio, offering frequent visitors such as deer and turkeys. Bonnie looked forward to monthly dinners, card games, and visits from her friends. She was a wealth of information when it came to the people and places of Broadwater.

She will be missed by her friends and family, but we find solace knowing she is at peace and reunited with her favorite place, Broadwater, and with the family that has gone before her.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Mike (Dinah) Bauer and Robert J.

Bauer; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; daughter- in-law Tammy Sherlock (Pat); sister-in-law Donna Meir; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

She joins in her heavenly home: her parents, Herman and Pearl Bennett; husband John R. Bauer; brother Darrell R. (Bonnie) Bennett; and son Jeffery L. Bauer.
