Elmer was born December 6, 1937, in Scottsbluff, NE, to Enemorio and Aurora (Garcia) Estrada.

He was married to Clara (Cervantes) Estrada for over 60 years.They met in Scottsbluff and knew each other for many years before courting and finally marrying. She proceeded him in death in March of 2025.

From this union came five children: Phillip (Roseann) Estrada ofTopeka, KS, Richard (Deborah) Estrada of Manhattan, KS, and Gregory (Tina) Estrada of Lincoln, NE.

Elmer was a simple man: give him a recliner and put anything Huskers on TV and he was happy.Throw in some sweet bread or pie and he had a smile a mile wide with a big thumbs up. Elmer loved collecting things at countless garage sales.

Elmer is survived by his children Philip, Richard, and Gregory; sister-in-law Angie Estrada; sister Delores (Dave) Muzquiz; brothers Lupe (Lola) Gonzales, Arthur (Rachel) Gonzales; and with such a large loving family, there were many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Clara, children Tonia Estrada and Robert Estrada, stepfather Jose Gonzalez, and brothers Louie Estrada and John Estrada.
