Richard Eugene Krul, 75

Richard was born on December 20, 1949, in Alliance, Nebraska. He grew up on his family’s ranch in Angora, where he developed a lifelong love for farming, hunting, and raising livestock. He graduated from high school in Bridgeport, Nebraska.
In 1968, Richard was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He attended boot camp at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and went to artillery school in Ft.
Sill, Oklahoma. He proudly served for six years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He completed his enlistment in Nebraska with an honorable discharge in 1974.
After returning home, Richard began working at Dayco in Alliance, and later continued his career as a machinist with BNSF Railroad.
Richard married the love of his life, Patty, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in family, hard work, and love.They raised three sons, Nick, Scott, and Ryan, and made their home in Hemingford, Nebraska.
Richard and Patty would attend Czech Festivals and Polka Dances.
Richard loved his time on the farm, gardening, and spent countless hours fixing tractors, raising livestock, and taking on any project that needed doing. He loved a good polka dance, a lively card game, and time spent with the people he loved most. Family gatherings always included rummy, pitch, or cribbage, games Richard taught his grandchildren around the kitchen table.
There were always laughter, teasing, and memories being made. His family was truly his world, and he made sure they always knew it.
Richard is survived by his sons: Nicholas (Mary), Scott (Rachel), and Ryan (Jenna).
Richard especially cherished being a grandfather. His grandchildren—Spencer, Jacob (Emma), Olivia, Morgan, Ashley, Olivia, Blayde, Raelee, Tate, and Calvin—were the joy of his life.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents Stanley Sr. and Minnie Krul, his brother Stanley Jr., and Patty Krul.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
