Graveside services will be held on April 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Peter Preus officiating. A cake and coffee reception will be held afterward at 3:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Broadwater.

Lorena married Woodrow Eichthater in Broadwater on January 17, 1952, with Reverand Barnes officiating.

To this marriage Irene Marie, Jerry Duane, and Donald Ray were born.

Lorena was a kindhearted and very giving person throughout her life. Lorena was a very hardworking woman. She loved children and babysat for many families in the Broadwater area throughout her time there. She was a wonderful seamstress and her talent for sewing was appreciated very much.

Lorena moved to Bridgeport and served in the Foster Grandparent Program for 25 years or more at Bridgeport Public School. Her students adored her and she them.

She was a member of St.

Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, and was baptized there on December 2, 2001.

Lorena was fortunate to have her neighbor and friend, Kathy Ewert, look after her in her later years, enabling her to stay in her home—and Lorena’s family thanks Kathy for that gift.

Preceding Lorena in death were her parents, her son Jerry, and her daughter-in-law Diane. Survivors include her children, Irene of Albuquerque, NM, and Don of Bridgeport; 2 grandchildren; and her sister Roxie of Sidney.
