Max Clinton Sanders, 81

Max Clinton Sanders, 81, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away April 12, 2026, at his home.

Max Clinton Sanders was born to Vernon “Bus” and Jessie (Eckert) Sanders on October 7, 1944, in Dalton, Nebraska, the youngest of four children. He was raised between the farm at Dalton and Bridgeport, learning to work, hunt, fish, and play football, some of his favorite pastimes, graduating from Bridgeport in 1962.

Max married Carol Bauer and to this union one son, Morgan Dean Sanders, was born. For the last 45 years he has enjoyed marriage to Loriann Kindelberger, and to this union one daughter was born, Heather Elizabeth Sanders Harsh.

Most of his working life was spent in the vacuum cleaner and sewing machine business with the family working alongside him. He started selling Kirbys for his uncle Gene and then opened Max’s Sales and Service in Sidney, Nebraska, before moving to Scottsbluff and acquiring Platte Valley Vac and Sew in 1977, which is still running today.

Max had a huge personality and loved to joke around. He never knew a stranger and loved to visit, which helped in business he was in.

Max and Lori dedicated their life to Jesus during their marriage, which made his momma happy as she had been praying for her ‘wild child’ all her life! He loved the Lord and wanted those he came in contact with to share that joy.

Max is survived by his wife, Lori; their children Morgan and Heather (Shane Harsh), grandchildren; ReBanna and Brycen and great-grandchild Rehtaeh; his sister Jane Vick, sisters-in-law Joy Sanders, Susan Sanders, Patricia McGray, and Terri Brunner, brother-in-law Jeffery McGray, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ron and Lyle; brothers-in-law Roy Vick and Jack Brunner; and nephew, 1st Lt. Steven Vick.

His memorial service was held at the Bible Berean Church in Scottsbluff on April 22, with a private burial service later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bible Berean Church, Scottsbluff, NE; or to Camp Rock, Redington, NE.
