Peggy was born on May 16, 1935, in Dalton, NE, to Earl Munshaw and Bernice Halaas. She attended a school for girls in Denver, Colorado, for several years before later attending Dalton High School. On November 17, 1952, Peggy married James M.

Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney, Nebraska. Together, Peg and Jim built a life centered around family, faith, and community.They were blessed with five children: James Jr., Patricia, John, Paula, and Pamela.

During the 1970s and 1980s, Peggy owned and operated The Fabric Boutique in Sidney.The shop was first located in the Jones Center before moving downtown to Illinois Street. Peggy’s love of sewing was something she enjoyed sharing with others.

She taught quilting classes and even taught others how to make their own jeans.

Peggy was a woman of many talents, and she lovingly passed those talents on to her family. She taught her daughters how to bake, preserve the bounty from the garden, crochet, embroidery, and, most importantly, to share her love of sewing.

Later in life, Peggy found another creative outlet in making beautiful handmade cards for family and friends.

Peg and Jim shared a busy and full life raising their five children. As their family grew, so did the number of events they proudly attended.You could often find them sitting in the stands, cheering on their children, grandchildren, and eventually their great-grandchildren. Few things brought Peggy more joy than being surrounded by the people she loved. Family and friendship were always important to Peggy. She enjoyed spending time with friends, whether gathering with the ladies-only card club she started or simply meeting friends in town for coffee. She treasured those friendships and the many conversations, laughs, and memories they shared through the years.

Peggy is survived by her sons, James Jr. and his wife, Katherine, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and John and Marge of Atkinson, Nebraska; daughters Patricia Keenan of Dalton, Nebraska, Paula and Roland Parker of Dalton, Nebraska, and Pam and Shayne Coker of Celina, Texas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, James Troidl Sr., who passed away in 2025; her parents, Bernice Halaas and Earl Munshaw; her brother, Rick Munshaw; and her grandchildren, Victor Parker, Bret Troidl, and Kristie Brandt.

Peggy leaves behind a family blessed by the love, traditions, talents, and memories she shared so generously throughout her life. Her love of family, her creativity, and the joy she found in simply being together with those she cared about will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
