Ardis Smith, 90, formerly of Dalton, NE, passed away at The Heritage in Gering on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, at the United Church of the Plains in Dalton, with Pastor Bud Gillespie officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Dalton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dalton Fire Department, Festival of Hope (for cancer), or to the donor’s choice.

Jerry J. Nelson, 78

Jerry Joe Nelson, 78, of Kearney and long-time resident of North Platte, NE, who died Thurs., March 12, 2020, at CHI Health–Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, will be memorialized August 8, 2021. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service celebrating his 80th birthday will be held in North Platte at the First United Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Aug. 8, at 3 p.m. After waiting for a year and a half due to Covid restrictions, the family is so excited to share this day with family and friends; all are welcomed to share this special day. For those wishing to send a memorial, we would suggest a gift to the Jerry Nelson Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers. There will be no interment as cremation was chosen. Roland Ernest Inman, 89

Roland Ernest Inman, 89, of Bridgeport, Nebraska, passed away at his home on July 22, 2021. Roland “Ron” was born on November 23, 1931, to Cecil and Helen (Beaver) Inman at a farmhouse in Morrill County, NE. As was common for farming families at the time, he attended country schools through the 8th grade.
