Bulldogs sweep Bayard Tournament
The Bridgeport Bulldogs started their season with a bang, winning their first two games at the Bayard Tournament. In their match against the Crawford Rams on Friday, the Bulldogs won 44-41. It was a close game, with the score tied 9-9 at the end of the first quarter, and Crawford ahead by two, 18-16 at the half. Bridgeport scored 12 points in the third quarter, compared to Crawford’s 6, and 16 in the fourth. The Rams scored 17 points in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to win.
In the championship match against the Bayard Tigers, the Bulldogs took an early lead and never lwet it go, winning by a score of 75 to 49. Logan Nichols and Eric Stevens led in scoring with 17 points each, including three 3-pointers by Stevens and two by Nichols, followed by Kaleb Lussetto with 12 and Drake SeMasters with 10. DeMasters led in total rebounds with 15. Lussetto captured 6 steals, and Cole Faessler had 5 assists.
