It was standing room only Friday night under the stadium lights at the Dog House where a bitter battle ensued between the visiting North Platte St. Pat’s and the hometown Bridgeport Bulldogs.
The game got off to a promising start when on a 3rd and six, starting Tight End Joshua Warren (29) caught a 26-yard pass from Braeden Stull (5), Quarterback. Cole Faessler (3), then followed the strong touchdown drive by walking the ball into the endzone with 6:08 left in the first quarter. The two-point conversion attempt was thwarted by the Fighting Irish. Late in the first, Stull lobbed a 44-yard pass to heavily covered Wide Receiver Braxten Swires (1), who made the catch and held onto the ball for the tackle. However, it would not produce a much-de sired touchdown and the game remained 6-0 Bulldogs.
The second quarter was largely unremarkable until the time ran out to the half just as North Platte kicked a field goal through the uprights, closing the gap to a score of 6-3 going into the break.
