Leyton girls take 2nd at Storm Twilight meet

Dye, Watchorn, Draper and boys 4x100 Relay ranked in Class D top 10

The Leyton girls scored 84 points to claim second place at the Storm Twilight track meet in Chappell on Monday. Maxwell came in first with 108 points. The Leyton boys scored 52 to take fourth place. Garden County placed first with 132, followed by Creek Valley with 131 and Sidney with 64.

Bringing home the gold were: Megan Ernest in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:43.35, Madelyn Watchorn in the 100m Hurdles at 18.04 and the 300m Hurdles at 50.37, the 4x400 Relay team (Danielle Higgins, Megan Ernest, Ella Draper, and Madelyn Watchorn) with a time of 4:43.96, and Dominick Russ in the Long Jump, with a distance of 19’-05”.

Ella Draper placed second in both the 100 Meters and the 200 Meters with times of 13.74 and 29.13, respectively. Kort Dye grabbed silver in both the 110m Hurdles and the 300m Hurdles with times of 17.12 and 46.07. Jeremy Carley came in second in the Discus with a throw of 106’-02”.
