Lady Warriors take second at Minuteman Activities Conference tournament

The Leyton Lady Warriors were all smiles on Saturday after fighting to a second-place finish during the Minuteman Activities Conference volleyball tournament, held at Bridgeport. The ladies now stand in second place behind Potter-Dix in the D2 District 11 standings, with a 6-1 record in the district and a 17-11 record overall.

Bridgeport’s cross country girls team took district runner- up, punching their ticket to take the ride to Kearney tomorrow for their collective appearance in the state track meet after two top fifteen finishes and a second-place team spot last Thursday during the district meet at Courthouse and Jail Rock Golf. Leyton will also send one individual to the contest. Hemingford finished in first place with 13 points in the District Class D6 tournament, Bridgeport was second with 26 points, and Wallace, third with 27 points. All three teams will compete at Kearney.
