Warriors are District D-9 Track Champs

The Leyton Warriors participated in the Cheyenne County Track meet on Friday, May 7, and the D9 District Tournament at Chappell on Wednesday, May 12. With several first place finishes for both the boys and the girls’ teams, the Warriors took 1st place at both meets, with 150 points at home and 161 points at Districts. The Lady Warriors placed 3rd at home with 67 points and 7th at Districts with 40 points.

The Bridgeport 6th graders celebrated their elementary school graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 11, in the auditorium with parents and teachers there to support the move up to the Junior High section of the school. Sounds of Music

The Bridgeport Music Department held their Spring Concert on Tuesday evening, May 4th in the high school auditorium. The musicians put on quite an extensive show, including the Junior High Band playing Skygazer Fanfare, Alpha Squadron, and Defeating the Giant, followed by the High School Band playing, Shadow Dancer with lone senior band member Aleena Wagner soloing on flute, Bushido, and Hercules vs. The Hydra.

Fine Arts showcased at festival

A Fine Arts Festival was held at the school in the old gymnasium on Tuesday, May 4, to showcase projects students have been working on all year long in their visual arts classes. Art teachers Debbie Millette and Pat Goltl displayed their students’ artwork, consisting of oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, pencil and colored pencil drawings, batiks, clay, and mixed media arts.
