The Bulldogs came up big at the SPVA Conference, placing first with 97 points at the event which was held in Hershey on Thursday, January 14. Seven teams participated and several second place wins for Bridgeport put the Dawgs in a good points position. In the 113# class, Harrison Barnette placed 2nd, as did Chase McGrath at 120#, and at 126#, Coy Fleming; Damien Bell at 138# and Curtis Jackson at 170#.
All state teams were announced last weekend by the Omaha World Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star.
Bridgeport wrestlers headed east to take part in the Ogallala Duals on Thursday, January 7, grappling in five matches and placing 5th overall out of eight teams; first place went to Ogallala.
In basketball action Tuesday night, December 22, and for their last games of the semester, the Bulldogs competed against the Chase County Longhorns on home court in front of a large crowd to win both boys’ and girls’ games. The boys increased their record to 7-0 and the girls moved to 6-1.
