Warriors skin Tigers alive

The Leyton Warriors took on the Bayard Tigers at Leyton on Friday night, the 19th anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks on The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the plane crash in Pennsylvania. Before the football game, area First Responders and Veterans were recognized for their service in remembrance of 9/11. Those in attendance were the Dalton and Gurley Volunteer Fire Depts, Cheyenne County Sheriff, Morrill County Sheriff, Nebraska State Patrol, and local veterans.

Lady golfers take 2nd overall at The First Annual Creek Valley Invite

The Lady Bulldog Golfers took ten girls to Kimball on Tuesday, September 1 to compete against five other schools in both varsity and junior varsity matches. The Longhorns took home course advantage and came away with the firstplace spot with 446 points. Gordon/ Rushville placed second with 492 points and Bridgeport, third place with a team score of 523. Lady Bulldog Ashley Estrada took the eighth spot overall with a score of 119. Behind Estrada, Mileena Cruz and Aleena Wagoner were Bridgeport’s top scorers with 130 and 134 points, respectively.
