June Belle (Mason) Hinman

June Belle (Mason) Hinman, 82, of Bayard, Nebraska, died peacefully Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Chimney Rock Villa.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayard Cemetery. At her request, cremation has taken place. June was born on November 6, 1938, to Floyd and Mable (Wood) Mason. She attended Bayard Elementary. She lived with her parents, where she took care of them. June moved to South Dakota for a while, then returned to Bayard.

She worked at the Fowler’s Café as a dish washer for several years. She married Robert Hinman in 1998. He died in 2004. June moved to the assisted living, later moving to Chimney Rock Villa.

She loved to garden, canning and crocheting. She made many craft projects for the nursing home.

June is survived by her brother Richard (JoAnn) Mason of Wheatland, Wyoming; daughters Paula Contreras of Bayard and Donna and Victor Gutierrez, Sr. of Gering; six grandchildren: Jennifer Meter, Benjamin Contreras, Christina Contreras, Victor Gutierrez, Jr., Stacy (Jason) Hamilton and CeCeilia (Michael) Skiles; three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Meter, Zephaniah Hamilton and Keziah Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son-in-law Benny Contreras, and brother and sister-in-law Tom and Leona Mason.
