Mary Lynch, 70

Mary Lynch passed away on July 29, 2023, at Greeley, Colorado. A graveside service will be held at Chimney Rock Cemetery in Bayard, Nebraska, on October 12 at 10:30 a.m.

She was born in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, on September 10, 1952. She raised her family in Othello,Washington.

Mary volunteered for at several organization in Othello. She was treasurer for Special Olympics, helped start the Girls Softball Association, and volunteered for the Host reading program. She always had a garden and she would share her produce with the food bank in Othello, when possible.

Mary moved to Bridgeport, Nebraska, in 2015. She felt that she had come home, being surrounded by folks who had a true community spirit. She shared her veggies and cooking with neighbors and coworkers. When Mary became ill, the Bridgeport community came together to take care of her home and animals.

Mary loved to do research, so she donated her body to Science Care to help find a cure for her illness.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Molly Hawes of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Kim Asay of Colbert, Washington; and her brother Jim Winters of Payson, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her son Shawn.
