Speech team earns runner-up at Gordon-Rushville

The Bridgeport Speeches left before dawn on Saturday, January 29, to compete in the Gordon-Rushville Invitational, earning the Class C/D Runner Up spot overall. Fourteen students competed, many in multiple events, with the following results: In Duet Acting, Claire Linders and Tegan Rice placed 1st, Drew Leisy and Trinity Flores placed 5th. In Entertainment, Brooklyn Bates placed 4th, Extemporaneous say Cassandra Hopwood at 5th place.

In Humorous Prose, Drew Leisy placed 4th, in Persuasive, Cassandra Hopwood placed 2nd and Lorien DeMasters placed 5th. For Poetry, Destinee Mitchell placed 4th. The Oral Interpretation of Drama (OID) serious team with Trinity Flores, Tegan Rice, Drew Leisy, Eden Strawn, and Nathaniel McCoy, placed 3rd. This Saturday, the Speech Team will be in Chadron.
