“Simple Gifts” is a Shaker song written and composed in 1848. There have been several versions by recent artists. It was especially popular during the “peace and love” movements of the 1960s. “’Tis the gift to be simple ’Tis the gift to be free ’Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be And when we find ourselves in the place just right It will be in the valley of love and delight.”
