Bulldogs dominate weekend games
In boys’ basketball last weekend, the Bulldogs took on the Morrill Lions on the local court Thursday night in a conference game that was dominated by the dogs all four quarters. Top scorer was Braxten Swires with 16 points, followed closely by Brady Newkirk with 14 points. Luis Garza added ten and Cole Faessler had eight. The Bulldogs easily won it 57-32.
Fresh off that win, they travelled to Sheridan County to take on Gordon Rushville’s Mustangs Friday night. Fans who took to the road to cheer on the Bulldogs were not disappointed in the non-conference game when the match ended in an overtime win for the dogs. The game was neck in neck after one quarter, with 10 points apiece. Bridgeport picked up a few more than Gordon Rushville before the half, but the Mustangs came back strong after the break and came within a point of Bridgeport headed into the final quarter, where they pounded the pavement to even up the score before the final buzzer.
