Warriors skin Tigers alive

The Leyton Warriors took on the Bayard Tigers at Leyton on Friday night, the 19th anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks on The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the plane crash in Pennsylvania. Before the football game, area First Responders and Veterans were recognized for their service in remembrance of 9/11. Those in attendance were the Dalton and Gurley Volunteer Fire Depts, Cheyenne County Sheriff, Morrill County Sheriff, Nebraska State Patrol, and local veterans.

While Bayard took first blood and put six on the board in the first quarter, the Warriors came back and scored 26 in the second to the Tigers’ six. After six more in the 3rd quarter for Leyton, Bayard took 12 and could not get anything else in the fourth, while the Warriors grabbed another 18, winning the game 50- 24 on their home field.
