Bulldog golfers enjoy success in conference tournaments
The Bridgeport boys golf team posted successful results competing in a pair of conference tournaments last week. In Saturday’s Western Trails Conference Tournament in Gordon, the Bulldogs earned a runner-up finish with a score of 376.

Basa recognized in Scholastic News
As luck would have it, Ms. Jill Bartling, who taught 5th grade at Leyton schools last year and had a student recognized in the national publication Scholastic News magazine this past December, has done it again.This year in her new position as one of Bridgeport’s 5th grade teachers, Ms. Bartling had another student recognized in the publication, this time in the April edition and featuring Julia Basa.

City of Bridgeport earns Growth Award
While many holidays celebrate remembering something that has already happened, Arbor Day emb0odies hope for the future. Arbor Day will be celebrated in Bridgeport on Saturday, April 22, 2023, as proclaimed by Mayor Beyer. Festivities will begin in West City Park at 2:30 p.m. with a tree planting demonstration provided by the North Platte NRD, followed by the planting of four trees with assistance from Bridgeport FFA and 4-H youth, and members of the Bridgeport Tree Board.The public is welcome to participate and encouraged to celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees.
