Sewage dominates city council meeting

A lengthy council meeting was held Thursday night at the community center, with much confusion at times. Most of the meeting centered on the action decided at last month’s council meeting regarding the replacement and potential addition of the sewer lines on L Street north of 5th Street. Line replacement there with a larger pipe may slow the back up of raw sewage into the new pipes in the alley behind the Steel Grill Restaurant and the Karette, which have led to unsavory sights and smells in the lower level of at least one residence on L Street where the sewage has seeped up through floor drains.
