Gust J. Anest, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed into eternal life on Friday, July 9, 2021. Gust was born on February 16, 1925, in Bridgeport, Nebraska, the son of James and Stavroula (Berles) Anest, the third of nine children. He attended Bridgeport High School, graduating with the class of 1943.

Tanner Loyd Stichka, 33, passed away in Springfield, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Tanner was born May 8, 1988, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Richard and Tonya D. (Lessman) Stichka. He received his education in the Bridgeport schools, graduating with the Class of 2007 where he excelled on the varsity basketball team. Tanner earned Associates Degrees in Construction, Architectural Design, and Drafting from Central Community College in Hastings, NE.

Edna Siegrist, 76, of Bayard, formerly of Kersey, CO, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at the Eaton Evangelical Free Church in Eaton, CO. Shane Robert Ernest, age 31, of Dalton, Nebraska, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 11, 2021, near Neligh, NE, from complications of injuries sustained in a semi-truck accident. A Vigil service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dalton with Father Bryan Ernest officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dalton. Cremation has been held. Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. Memorials can be sent in care of the family for future designation.

Carl F. Schneider, 94

Carl F. Schneider, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in Scottsbluff. His visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, July 10, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. His funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. July 10, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Allen Strawn officiating, and it will also be live-streamed on St. Paul’s FaceBook page. Interment with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard and the Bridgeport Sons of The American Legion Honor Guard will follow at the Redington Cemetery.
