After winning the Championship at the Southern Platte Valley Association conference last Monday, Bridgeport’s One Act team competed again on Tuesday at Morrill, this time for the Western Trails Conference contest, where they placed second overall.
Former Bridgeport K-12 vocal music teacher Scott Harvey was the guest clinician during the Western Trails Conference (WTC) Honor Choir, held November 14 at Bayard Public schools. Accompanied by Jason Hurd, the two men spent all day with choral students from the seven panhandle schools within the conference. During their workshop, students perfected the music chosen for a concert given that evening for the public.
Bridgeport—Entrepreneurship is crucial to the economic vitality of all communities. Research shows that educational programs focused on non-cognitive entrepreneurial skills are best developed at an early age and have spill-over effects to subsequent entrepreneurial knowledge and skill development in later years. The Nebraska ExtensionY.E.B.O (Youth Entrepreneurship and Business Opportunities) Issue Team recognized the need for such educational programs and created a new program in 2016 called INVENTURE Day.
The start of show choir season kicked off with the 39th annual Old West Choir Fest. The competition, hosted by Scottsbluff High School on Saturday, November 5, featured nineteen choirs from Nebraska and Colorado that showed off their talent to a packed house all day long.
