Western Trails Conference honors were bestowed upon five Bridgeport volleyball girls this week; junior players Brooklyn Mohrman and Grace Dean, and sophomore Aubrey Watts. Mohrman has played varsity for three years, and this year played in 74 sets, managing 197 total kills, 606 attack attempts, served up 16 aces, had 10 solo blocks, and 246 digs on the year. She also had 328 receptions, bringing her career total to 951 receptions in 239 sets.
A number of Bridgeport High School football players earned Class D1-District 11 honors for their impressive play on the gridiron this past season. A trio of Bulldogs were selected to the all-district offensive team; Senior Kason Loomis, junior Nolan DeBlois, and freshman Nikolas Weibert.
Red Ribbon Week, the largest drug abuse prevention campaign in the United States today, takes place each year across the nation from October 23-31. Students spend a week dressing for success, participating in real and virtual activities, and learning about prevention with age-appropriate resources.
The Leyton Lady Warriors fell to the runner up spot at Districts over the weekend, ending their season campaign with a 6-1 record in D2 District 11. Sutherland High School was the location of the final game between the number two Overton Lady Eagles and number 15 Lady Warriors varsity volleyball match on Saturday.
