Part of quilt mystery solved

For more than eight decades, an exquisite yellow quilt had been hidden away, protected from light and from use, and never washed. It was brought out last year and put up for auction where it was found online by a quilt appraiser’s son who was looking for something for his mother. The quilt was in Idaho, soon purchased by Bert Wright of Scottsbluff and delivered to his mother, Jeananne Wright, of Colorado, a quilt historian and avid collector.

The eight and under machine pitch baseball team played a game against the Scottsbluff 23 Club Pioneers on Monday night under the lights on the home field. While the score remains unknown by both sides, the kids all had a chance to hit and play all positions on the field for a great night of learning to play ball.

Bombers suffer back-to-back no-hits

Last Wednesday night, the Bridgeport Bombers hosted the Sheridan County Regulators in the American Legion Juniors-Seniors doubleheader in a matchup that never made it off the ground. The Bombers failed to generate any hits during either game, leading one to believe the cliché that there were termites in the bat rack.
