The Bridgeport Bombers Seniors lost a tough contest to Platte Valley Companies last Wednesday at Gering’s field. The Bombers squad held Gering tied at 5-5 into the 5th inning, before PVC pulled away in the final frames.
Bridgeport’s Braxten Swires, left, and Leyton’s Jason Jensen, right, both earned a spot at the state golf tournament last week. Swires, a senior who shot a 93 both days for a 186 total, tied for 53rd place overall. Jensen, a junior, placed 83rd overall with a score of 212. Two newly graduated seniors from Bridgeport were selected to play in the 28th annual Panhandle Prep game, played in Gering on Friday night in front of a huge crowd of spectators. Natalie Keenan Vergil, former Lady Bulldog and Mason Nichols, former Bulldog, were part of the girls and boys teams in the Red versus Blue All Stars Game.
It was an Oreo cookie result for the Bridgeport Bombers Seniors last week with a loss, win, loss result.
Several students from Bridgeport and Leyton qualified for the Class C and D state track tournament held at Burke High School in Omaha last week with three girls between the two schools bringing home some hardware.
