Lady Bulldogs state-bound

For the second straight year, the Lady Bulldogs basketball team qualified for the Class C-2 state tournament, this time after beating North Central out of Bassett 59-48 in a district final on Friday in North Platte. The Bulldogs, who improved to 24-1 on the season, will be the number three seed at state and will likely face the Sutton Lady Mustangs in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:45 p.m. (MST) at Southeast High School in Lincoln. Sutton, the sixth seed, sports a record of 20-4.

Attend Supper and Sounds tomorrow night

March is National Music in Our Schools Month, the time of year when music becomes a focus during the school year. With that comes Supper and Sounds to the Bridgeport auditorium tomorrow night, Thursday, March 3, starting with a $13 a plate supper of pulled pork, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll, followed by an array of desserts. An elaborate concert will conclude the evening, the performance being offered for a free will donation if you cannot attend supper.

Kindergarten registration March 15-17 Free Will Donation

Bridgeport Elementary School will be having Kindergarten registration on March 15-17 (Tuesday-Thursday) from 1:00-3:30 p.m. in the elementary office. If you have a child who is or will be five years old on or before July 31, 2022, please pre-register them at this time. Please bring your child's birth certificate and complete record of immunizations to the registration. You will receive physical examination forms and vision exam forms that must be filled out by a physician and returned er Days (June 22, 23, 24) to school by Kindergarten Round-Up Day on April 27.

Warriors finish season

The Leyton Warriors were one game away from the District Title with their game against Mead at Cozad. The road started out paved but quickly turned to gravel with an easy win over Kimball last Wednesday, 71- 32, followed by a tight game on Thursday against Hemingford.

Bridgeport Speech brings home three gold medals at SPVA

The speech meet at Perkins County was one of success for Bridgeport, taking third overall as a team. The OID team- Trinity Flores, Drew Leisy, Tegan Rice, and Eden Strawn- came in first place. Lucas Smith, Rand Golden, Claire Linders, Jordan Wagner, and Cassandra Hopwood followed closely behind, placing third. In entertainment, Brooklyn Bates performed hard and won first place. Destinee Mitchell placed first, and Danica Mullins placed sixth in serious prose. The streak didn’t end there, with Mitchell placing second in poetry. Hopwood placed fourth and Lorien DeMasters placed fifth in persuasive. Jordan Wagner placed 5th in informative. Golden took fourth in humorous and Smith took fifth. To finish off the day, Linders and Rice placed 2nd in duet acting: Flores and Drew Leisy placed 4th.
