Students selected for High Plains Honor Band and Choir
The 50th Annual High Plains Honor Band and Choir Concert was held Tuesday, February 8, at Memorial Hall on the campus of Chadron State College. Seven students from Bridgeport High School were selected to perform in the prestigious performance, from left, Delaney Pohl, Drew Leisy, Destinee Mitchell, Rand Golden, Lucas Smith, Hanna Berry, and Eden Strawn. The group travelled with Mr. and Mrs. Babic, Instrumental and Vocal Music Directors at BPS, early Monday morning to prepare for the multi-school show, putting in two full days of rehearsal. Twenty-six schools sent their elite musicians to make up a 90-person band and 60-person choir. Guest Conductor Dr. William K, Wakefield, Director of Band Emeritus at the University of Oklahoma, led the Honor Band while Guest Choir Conductor Dr. Joel Schreuder, professor of music at Chadron State College, led the Honor Choir.
