Two participate in Doane Vocal Festival

Lucas Smith and Drew Leisy, Bridgeport, joined in the Doane Vocal Festival on Sunday and Monday, January 9-10, when they traveled to Crete for the two-day event. The festival this year was open to 11th and 12th grade students who exemplify and excel in the performance art. Smith’s older brother, Elijah, a 2019 graduate of Bridgeport High School, was also in the Doane University choir, which hosted a solo performance Sunday night for the young students to hear, including Elijah. They heard music from Doublewide, the men’s acapella group, and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Leisy said he was grateful for the opportunity to go and that the Sunday performance, “was very entertaining”.
