The Bridgeport High School girls’ basketball team went on the road for the first time this season on Saturday, and earned a 75-46 win in Chadron. Following a close first half, the Bulldogs outscored the Cardinals 42-19 in the second half to pull away. The win improved Bridgeport to 5-0 on the season heading into the makeup game at Hemingford on Monday. Brooklyn Mohrman and Ruthie Loomis-Goltl scored 28 points each in the win over Chadron; Mohrman sank six 3-pointers while Olivia Loomis-Goltl finished with 17 points.

Grapplers compete at Bronco Invite

The Bronco Invite 2021 was held in Mullen over the weekend with two Bulldogs and one Warrior bringing home medals. Steven Menke earned first place in the 160# division with a 5-1 decision over Tanner O’Brien of Hitchcock County and Harrison Barnette placed second in the 126# weight bracket. In the Championship round, Barnette fell to Carter VanPelt of Southwest with a pin. Leyton Warrior Brenton Abbot placed 4th in the 145-pound bracket.
