The Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs took to the SPVA conference at Grant on Saturday and finished with 4th place overall behind Chase County, Hershey, and St. Pats.
The Bulldogs were on the road last Friday for a game against the Chase County Longhorns, falling in a close matchup, 33-36. In the game recap, the first shining moment came in a fumble recovery early in the first followed by an 11- yard run by Kason Loomis and a 21-yard run by Braxten Swires.
It was an answer to hometown prayers as the muchneeded rain began to fall in the final stanza of the last home game of the 2021 football season, and the Bulldogs reigned in their first win of the season to a loudly cheering crowd.
District Golf finished off the season for the Lady Bulldogs last Tuesday when they competed against 12 other schools in their class and ended in 7th place with 510 points. Top scorer for Bridgeport was Lorien DeMasters with 109 strokes, Trinity Flores and Cassandra Hopwood with 133, Jordan Wagner with 135, and Brooklyn Bates with 142. The varsity girls competed in nine meets this fall, with varying degrees of success. The ten girls on the JV and Varsity teams improved as a whole throughout the year.
