Feud in Broadwater over fate of grade school

In a public disagreement that has been ongoing for months, opinions over the salvation of the old grade school building heated up this month in Broadwater. Village Chairperson Susan Kelly submitted her resignation at the start of the October 11 meeting and Heather Peterson, Vice Chair, became the Village Chairperson Pro-Tempore, presiding over the special meeting held Friday, October 22.

Board of Ed approves 8-man football for two years

The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 11, 2021, with all board members present along with Mrs. Reynolds, Mr. Schlothauer, Mr. Lambert, and Ms. Brown. The board had two action items, both pertained to football as the board approved a resolution stating Bridgeport’s intent to play 8-Man football the next two years under NSAA jurisdiction, due to the “boy” count for grades 9-11 being insufficient to participate in 11-man football.
